The Distillers Edition represents an annual limited release from Diageo, showcasing select single malt Scotch whisky distilleries within its portfolio. Each bottling undergoes a secondary maturation period in a chosen cask type. For this Caol Ila expression, casks previously holding Moscatel sherry, a sweet fortified dessert wine, were utilized. Distilled in 2006, it was bottled in 2017 at an 86 proof.
