Jack Daniel's Master Distiller Series No. 6 is the sixth release in a line honoring the late master distiller Jimmy Bedford. This expression was made available as a limited release in Tennessee and for global travel retail starting in October 2017. It is bottled at 43% ABV.

Nose: maple, brown sugar, and spice with an underlying note of charred wood and citrus. Taste: It begins with a slightly medicinal caramel, transitioning to notes of charcoal and light vanilla. Finish: The sweetness fades, revealing an almost oily wood and corn character. The finish is long and quite dry.
Bourbon isn't typically my preference, and I rarely think about picking up a "jack." This was purchased for someone else, but I sampled it when offered. I'm genuinely surprised by how incredibly smooth it is and the well-rounded taste. I'd definitely have another pour.
Aroma - Banana peel, a touch of cherry, leather. Slightly nutty. Taste - Very light. Extremely light vanilla and oak. Aftertaste - Only very light cinnamon.
It's acceptable. Not as poor as some critics claim, but far from the best. A decent middle-ground option that isn't too harsh for beginners.
There's an unusual aftertaste. I'm not sure what it is, but it's not to my preference.
I'm not a big fan of JD, but this is very smooth and a little more sophisticated than the standard Jack.
