Herbal and vanilla notes up front, surprisingly picking up on some sweeter sherry tones initially, followed by cereal, then more herb and a solid amount of earthy peat with a hint of raspberry throughout. The finish is medium to long with a pleasant dry peatiness. There's a touch more sweetness than the standard machir bay as this specific bottling shows 15% sherry and 85% bourbon compared to the usual 10% sherry and 90% bourbon, but it's minor. I also found this specific bottling to be less expensive than the standard machir bay, so if you see this review, get the specific bottling!!!!
