The aroma is malty and musty, with a strong ethanol presence. After allowing it to rest, a hint of brown sugar emerged as the ethanol dissipated, though the mustiness persisted. It evokes the sensation of corn liquor moonshine. The palate is quite smooth, sweet, and features a developing burn. I detect a slight brown sugar flavor, but it fades quickly. The finish is unusual; the flavor vanishes rapidly, but the burn lingers. My initial assessment is that it is far too young and could benefit from several more years in the barrel.
